One command creates the local Phronesis workspace for Claude Code or Codex. The Phronesis macOS app is another door into the same workspace.
Bring the AI surface you already use.
Already work in Claude Code or Codex? Keep it. One command creates the pm/ door and shared codex/, seeded with first-party content. Phronesis uses the model access that surface already has, so a subscription-backed surface needs no Phronesis API key and creates no second model bill.
The workspace still starts with that one command. After an interactive run creates it,
init offers to install the persistent phronesis command and a
versioned copy of the CLI under ~/.phronesis/, outside the workspace you chose.
The offer is never automatic: answer no or pass --no-persist to decline.
Scripts opt in with --persist. Remove the managed command later with
phronesis launcher remove.

Phronesis for macOS.
The macOS app puts chat, approvals, workspace browsing, and guided setup around the same local Markdown workspace. Connect Anthropic or OpenAI with your own key, or connect OpenRouter without pasting one. The engine itself never holds a provider key.
The app is not available for public download yet. Join the list and we will let you know when a build is ready.
No account, no password. We use your email only to coordinate macOS app availability.
There is no Phronesis account or cloud vault. macOS app access coordinates a build; it does not move your work into a service. The workspace is a directory on your own disk, and the source of truth stays there whether you use the app or bring another AI surface.
